We were given between 500-700 DAT tapes and requested to restore the information. We ordered the drive, which arrived much faster than expected, built a computer around it, and once we performed our sacrifice to the SCSI gods, it performed (and is performing) flawlessly.

The only note I make is that when the drive initially fired-up, it was requesting a cleaning tape cycle. 10-seconds with a new cleaning tape handled that issue.

As I suspect we may be wearing this one out with the project, we will likely be purchasing additional drives from Datland.
